    ALEXSEAL Topcoat 501 Roll Additive
ALEXSEAL A5018 Topcoat 501 Roll Additive is an auxiliary product for ALEXSEAL 501 Topcoat. It improves the levelling of the surface and helps to eliminate air bubbles from the paint film during the application by brush or roller.

ALEXSEAL A5018 Topcoat 501 Roll Additive is added to the ready mixed ALEXSEAL 501 Topcoat before applying the material by brush or roller. Add 1 cap or 10ml of A5018 – Topcoat 501 Roll Additive per ready mixed quart or liter (1% to the ready to paint mixture). Additional quantities of A5018 Roll Additive for 501 can disturb the surface quality of the paint and are not recommended.

      ALEXSEAL Acrylic Topcoat X

ALEXSEAL Acrylic Topcoat X is a two-component topcoat combining the latest acrylic and polyester technology. Designed for the yachting industry, the ALEXSEAL Acrylic Topcoat X offers a very high gloss and exceptional depth of image. The product is easy to apply and shows a very good leveling. Note
ALEXSEAL Topcoats dry with an exceptionally high-gloss finish. For applications where gloss is not desired or needs to be reduced, use ALEXSEAL Flattening Additive.

Reducer type and content affects the overall drying time of the coating. ALEXSEAL offers five different reducers to accommodate a variety of application conditions. Refer to the following chart to determine which reducer is best suited for your application. Refer to the appropriate TDS in “Technical Data Sheets” for each product’s specific suitability, mixing and application instructions.

        ALEXSEAL Non Skid

ALEXSEAL Non Skid is specifically developed to achieve non-skid textures. Although not an actual finish like other ALEXSEAL Topcoats, ALEXSEAL Non Skid is a transparent additive that can be sprayed or rolled onto deck surfaces or other areas that are apt to pose a slipping hazard if left untreated. Non Skid can be added to any of ALEXSEAL’s topcoat products.

Procedure For Application of ALEXSEAL Non Skid

        1. Clean and prime the area to be painted per the preparation instructions for topcoat.
        2. Apply ALEXSEAL Non Skid with a brush, roller or sprinkling technique. Refer to the Non Skid TDS within “Technical Data Sheets”, as well as the TDS for the topcoat you are adding the Non Skid compound to.

          ALEXSEAL Flattening Additive

ALEXSEAL Flattening Additive is a matting paste for ALEXSEAL Topcoat. This product varies the degree of gloss without reducing the mechanical properties of the topcoat. Flattening Additive is ideal to use when a lower gloss level is desired to minimize glare and surface defects. ALEXSEAL Flattening Additive may be added to any ALEXSEAL Topcoat color base. This product is designed for spray application. Brush application may result in an uneven flat, or semi-gloss finish.

Procedure For Application of ALEXSEAL Flattening Additive

          1. Prepare the surface in the same fashion as for ALEXSEAL Topcoat.
          2. Mix Flattening Additive with topcoat using the quantities and methods described in the appropriate “Technical Data Sheets”.

          Note
ALEXSEAL Flattening Additive is NOT intended to be applied with a brush or roller.

            Important
DO NOT attempt to apply ALEXSEAL Metallic Base Coat if the relative humidity is above 80%. Surface temperature, air flow, direct or nondirect sunlight, quantity of reducer, and film thickness will effect times during application. During the drying phase the minimum temperature should be 15°C (60°F). Ideal temperature: 25°C (77°F).

            Important
DO NOT break through the Clear Gloss when sanding, as this can affect or change the color of the metallic base coat.
