Island Adventures Whale Watching is Amazed by Alexseal’s Finish and Durability

March 19, 2018

Island Adventures Whale Watching
After running a full season of over 250 tours, Island Adventures Whale Watching’s newest ship in the fleet, Island Explorer 5, looked the same as it did brand new leaving the Mavrik Marine plant. Finished in Alexseal Yacht Coatings from the waterline to the third deck’s hardtop, including non-skid across all surfaces, this 30m (98’) sight-seeing catamaran is the crown jewel of the company’s fleet.

Shane Aggergaard, owner of Island Adventures Whale Watching based in Anacortes, Washington, appreciates the durable finish on his newest ship. Between clients and crew, the decks have withstood over 30,000 people but, “the whole boat has really held up beautifully.” Shane continues, “The perfect finish of the hull and topsides hasn’t aged a bit, even in the most subjected spots, where fenders rub the hull daily, during fuel stops and loading and unloading passengers.”

Gunboat and Alexseal Celebrate Another Colorful Accomplishment

November 3, 2015

Gunboat G4It was in 2001 that Peter Johnstone embarked on a mission to make the perfect cruising catamaran, giving birth to Gunboat and the company’s first splash, Tribe. Sailors took notice and word spread, helping to take Johnstone’s passion from a single 62 foot cruising cat to a thriving business building luxurious cruising catamarans ranging in size from 48 to 90 feet. Johnstone’s latest innovation is the Gunboat G4, christened Timbalero 3 by its owner. In close collaboration with Holland Composites, the world’s first recreational, fully-foiling catamaran with comfortable long-range cruising accommodations was launched. This 40-foot cat not only turns heads due to her rocket-like speed around the race course, but also her bold Alexseal finish—a vibrant color trait she shares with many of her Gunboat sisterships. Gunboat “FLOW” Traveling the World in Alexseal Sea Foam Green

January 28, 2014

Gunboat FLOWDelivering a brand new yacht on the other side of the world usually involves a reservation on a transport ship, but not so for the bluewater inspired Gunboat sailing catamarans. Built on the premise of speed, strength and stability, Gunboats are designed to comfortably conquer long-range expeditions and ocean crossings.

FLOW, Gunboat’s latest 60 foot catamaran to splash, was constructed and finished in the company’s Xiamen, China facility where it received it’s stunning Alexseal Sea Foam topcoat. With the goal of being stateside in time for the fall 2013 boat show season, FLOW embarked on her own bottom on a 12,000 mile journey from Xiamen to North Carolina. Her world debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show proved that her long journey was a total success.
