Alexseal Applicators School, held at the Mankiewicz U.S. headquarters in Charleston, South Carolina, is designed for technicians of all skill levels. Our 2014 Applicators School course took place in January and boasted attendees from New England Boat Works, RMK Merrill Stevens and Carolina Restoration. Typical classes average 8 – 13 attendees from all over the United States and other countries.
During the three-day seminar, attendees spent roughly half of their time in the classroom for instruction and demonstrations, and the remaining half of their time in the paint booth, putting their new techniques to practice on fiberglass boat hulls. Alexseal’s highly sought after technical applicators & support team provided training for finish application, as well as for our full system of fairing compounds, primers and specialty coatings. Instructors also led courses on best practices for project estimating and management, and important health and safety practices. Upon completion of this course, every attendee was required to pass a certification test after which they were awarded a certificate of completion.
Alexseal Regional Manager Alastair Smith explained,
“Our objective is to train applicators around the world with our best practices so that they can obtain the greatest possible application results for their customers. We look forward to the growth of our training programs as more boat builders, applicators and project managers use our products and strive to achieve superior results on their coatings projects.”
